The term “period” is used to describe vaginal bleeding that lasts roughly 3 to 7 days and occurs approximately every 28 days. (but don’t worry if you aren’t a perfect 28 day cycler, more on that to come!) Our entire menstrual cycle is this gorgeous ebb and flow of hormones through 4 weeks ish that beautifully repeats itself each month.

What this means is that unlike we’ve been taught our entire lives, our cycles are not this week to be feared, hated or looked down on. In fact, it’s much more than just a few days of carb cravings, water retention, acne, pain and channeling your inner emo chick – there are 4 very distinct parts: Follicular, Ovulatory, Luteal and Bleeding Phase and each phase can be used a a secret super power for women!

Yep, that’s right loves – Your menstrual cycle can be a total blessing — it doesn’t have to be a curse — especially if you know how to optimize your phases instead of fighting them!

We are going to be spending a lot of time on the gram talking on Period Health 101 so you can feel period literate and begin to take back your monthly cycle!
