If you’ve been chasing symptoms…

WE DON’T GUESS… WE TEST!

Why Functional Labs Matter

Conventional lab work is designed to screen for disease, which means it often misses early signs of dysfunction. Just because something is “in range” doesn’t mean you’re thriving.

Functional lab testing digs deeper. It helps us spot imbalances, deficiencies, infections, and toxic burdens before they snowball into bigger issues — so you can get clear answers and a plan that actually makes sense.

I use 3 core labs to guide data-driven, personalized protocols for my clients.

We use 4 core functional tests to guide personalized protocols that get results:

FUNCTIONAL BLOOD CHEMISTRY ANALYSIS

Not your typical bloodwork review. We use functional ranges — optimal zones, not just “normal” cutoffs — to give you a clearer picture of your health.

We assess:

  • Inflammation and immune stress
  • Blood sugar and insulin resistance
  • Liver and gallbladder function
  • Nutrient deficiencies (iron, B12, vitamin D, etc.)
  • Thyroid markers (including full panels with antibodies)
  • Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk (through a functional lens)

Most women have had bloodwork done before—but no one has looked at it this way.

GI-MAP STOOL TEST

Your gut impacts everything: mood, hormones, immunity, skin.

This test shows us:

  • Infections (parasites, H. pylori, candida, viruses)
  • Leaky gut and inflammation markers
  • Digestive enzyme function and fat absorption
  • Short-chain fatty acids (your gut’s fuel!)
  • Autoimmune reactivity (anti-gliadin and calprotectin markers)

If you’ve dealt with IBS, bloating, skin flares, or food sensitivities—this test is a game changer.

HAIR TISSUE MINERAL ANALYSIS (HTMA)

Your minerals control your metabolism – and if they’re off, so is everything else.

This test looks at long-term trends in:

  • Stress and adrenal patternsI
  • Metabolic type and thyroid activity
  • Heavy metal toxicity
  • Calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper ratios
  • Nervous system regulation

We use this to personalize support for anxiety, fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and more.

ADDITIONAL LABS

(IF NEEDED)

Sometimes we add advanced testing to dig even deeper or confirm a specific imbalance. These may include:

  • DUTCH Hormone Testing (for a full picture of hormone + cortisol patterns)
  • Organic Acids Test (OAT) (to assess gut, detox, and nutrient pathways)
  • Total Toxin Panel (to uncover mold, heavy metals, and chemical exposures)
  • Neurotransmitter Testing (to understand mood, focus, and stress chemistry)

These labs are recommended only if your case calls for them—keeping the process strategic, efficient, and personalized.

Putting the Puzzle Together

Your labs give us a comprehensive look at your gut health, nutrient status, mineral balance, inflammation, and detox pathways. Each one adds critical pieces to your health story—helping us connect the dots between your symptoms and what’s actually happening beneath the surface.

Rather than guessing or chasing symptoms, we use these results to build a customized, step-by-step plan that supports your body back into balance.

What We Do With Your Results

We don’t hand you a dense lab report and leave you on your own. Instead, we:

  • Targeted supplementation
  • Food and lifestyle upgrades
  • Nervous system and detox support
  • Ongoing education + coaching

You deserve more than symptom suppression.

You deserve answers, clarity, and a plan you can trust.

What’s Possible at SHE TALKS HEALTH

I know I don’t share often enough on this forum and really want to let you know how much this program can change your life

In my recent work with Sophie, we have uncovered some intense and difficult blockages and for the first time in my life (!) I am seeing a path forward with my perception of myself and my body. Investing in myself and allowing myself to be fully seen by these incredible women has opened me up to so many opportunities for growth.

Mary

Before working with Sophie and her team, I had more symptoms and problems than what I could count on two hands. I have been working with multiple doctors for quite some time, and alhough I was experiencing some progress, most of my symptoms remained. I am in my second month in She Thrives and already have experienced multiple wins. I have increased appetite, better sleep patterns, less bloating and less headaches. I have gained so much knowledge around topics like toxicity and nutrition, and learned new tools to help with strong emotions like anger and anxiety. My biggest wins though deal with fatigue, bathroom visits, and mindset. I went from taking a three-hour nap daily, three bowel movements max per week, and well on my way to believing this was as good as it gets, to a two-hour nap weekly, daily bowel movements, and well on my way to believing I can become my own self-healer, feeling empowered. The program, and the community, support, and accountability, has been one of the best investments in my health that I have made.

Katrina

Where do I even begin with Sophie and this program? I was referred to Sophie at a time where I was feeling quite hopeless. My hair was falling out, I was experiencing unusual weight gain, constantly fatigued and was overall very disconnected from my body. My first appointment with Sophie I knew the universe had placed her in my world for a reason. She is the most genuinely caring person and extremely knowledgeable in her field(Carly too!). I trusted her from the start. She made me feel safe and confident I would feel like myself again. After several tests she came up with a protocol that at the time I didn’t realize would change my life forever. She focuses on nutrition, supplemental support AND the emotional/ trauma side of things. The somatic exercises that were a part of my protocol were a game changer!! I now feel in control of my body and connected to it. After being highly stressed for years and thinking being tired and irritable were just part of being an adult I have the tools to properly take care of myself. And the understanding of how important that is. Sophie’s program will provide you with a wealth of knowledge and you’ll feel like you’re working with a friend who really cares. I’ve never felt better or more confident I’m taking proper care of myself. Thank you Sophie and Carly!! You two are the absolute best!

Lauren

Thank you is how I want to start this off. There is not enough of that to go around, to put into words of the experience that I had in this program. I came into this program with the mindset based on my previous health experiences, finding a deeper understanding of my concerns would be over shadowed by more talking than listening. One thing that could be said was that I am so glad that I was wrong. My voice was heard and my feelings were valued, I was able to manage my stress better and make my self a priority.

There were test that I didn’t know was available for the concerns that I had, and I was grateful for the results that showed me a deeper understanding of my body. To put it all in a nutshell I came in with preconceived notions and left walking with my gut feeling better, knowledge of what my body needs, and how to use what I learned in my everyday life. Again thank you!

Fitting into clothes that haven’t fit in a long time. Noticing LOTS of physical & mental improvements: able to relax easier & not feeling so anxious/irritable/overwhelmed all the time esp when falling asleep, eczema has greatly improved & I’m less itchy/dry skin, my skin is looking better, weight loss, not bloated/hard stomach, not running to the bathroom or taking things for upset stomach on a daily basis anymore & more!

I really appreciate being surrounded by a group of women motivated to heal and encouraging one another. It is easy to feel like you’re the only one struggling sometimes and to forget that others have the same experiences, but being connected to a community of women pulls you out of that. It also gives you access to shared wisdom and keeps you accountable. I love it when someone else asks a question that I didn’t think to ask and then I learn something new! I think I’ve learned so much more by having access to the learning and the support of the group in addition to receiving direct attention from a practitioner than just meeting with a practitioner individually. It’s been a much more positive experience!

Jennifer

You’re so great at what you do and help women every day get to the root cause of their symptoms. Every meeting, message, tip, and post encourages everyone and is soo appreciated. I wouldn’t have started the healing journey without you!! You ROCK!!
