Episode Summary

I had the opportunity to chat with Melissa Kramer, a trailblazer in patient advocacy and the founder of Live UTI Free. Melissa has built a comprehensive online community focused on patient research and education, collaborating with patients, clinicians, and scientists worldwide.

Her idea for this online community started with her own struggle with recurrent UTIs and yeast infections. After years of trying everything and finding some relief through trial and error, she decided to take her experience one step further and begin studying women’s health more deeply. Now, she’s a strong advocate for women’s health research and helps thousands of women worldwide find much-needed answers to their health struggles through compiling a database of information from a wide variety of sources.

Melissa emphasizes integrating the patient perspective into research and links patients to clinical trials, scientific studies, and quality of life impact assessments. We explore individualized strategies for managing UTIs, the shortcomings of current testing methods, the importance of research participation, and the empowering idea that patients are never alone in their journey.

Melissa’s dedication to women’s health shines through, offering hope and practical advice for those struggling with chronic UTIs. If you or someone you know struggles with similar issues, please check out Live UTI Free and share this episode with a woman who could benefit from this information. Until next time!
