Kimberly Kaye is a lifelong patient turned practitioner and patient advocate. Born with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a genetic connective tissue disorder which causes gut dysmotility, cardiac abnormalities, immune system dysfunction, and central nervous system issues, she has suffered through periods of organ failure, autoimmunity. In 2017 she was admitted into Cleveland Clinic’s prestigious Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program. Her success in the program—including removal of a feeding tube doctors previously had predicted would be permanent—was not a miracle, but rather an example of the kinds of improvements even severely disabled patients can make when long term, integrative care is made available to them. Following her discharge from Cleveland Clinic, Kimberly continued “healing journey” by traveling to Mexico to learn from shamanic and Ayurvedic practitioners.She graduated from the Functional Medical Coaching Academy, a certification program through the Institute of Functional Medicine.
